Attention JAGS- Your elementary student council is declaring a Penny War! From April 29-May 2, grades will be competing against each other to raise money for South Odyssey Charter School in Los Angeles that was burned down in the Palisade fires in January. Please participate and help lead your grade to victory by adding pennies and bills in your grade’s bin and putting silver coins in other grades’ bins to take points away from them. All bins are in the hall outside the main office. The winning grades will receive a prize. Remember, every penny counts!
Field Day 3rd - 6th grade - Friday, May 2. 5th & 6th grade will participate from 8:30-10:45 a.m. 3rd & 4th grade will participate from 12:30-2:45 p.m. This is a full day of school for all students. Spectators are welcome.
Band - 2025-2026 School year - This is for students going into 4th 5th & 6th grade. As we near the end of the school year, the door for any students interested in joining our band program next fall is open. If your student did not participate in band as a 4th or 5th grader, and may be interested in joining next year, your student must attend the instrument informational meeting on May 6th. Please note, students taking band this coming school year, will be taking technology but will not be scheduled for CKC. Sign up using this link HERE.
Assessment Days - Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9 - Students will only attend one of the following sessions: Thursday morning from 8:00-11:00 a.m.,Thursday afternoon session from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. or Friday from 8:00-11:00 a.m. Lunch will not be served. Teachers sent out an email to sign up for one of these sessions on Monday, April 21.

Teacher Appreciation Week is Coming Up! Help show our appreciation to our Amazing JA Teachers & Staff by signing up to bring a variety of items to round out meals and snacks for the week. Not into cooking - there's slots to help decorate around the school too! Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5-9.
School Supplies for 2025-2026 School Year - It's time to pre-order your students' school supplies for next year! We have partnered with a company that will put together all of the supplies that your student's teacher has requested. Supplies will be delivered to the school in August and taken to your student's classroom before the first day of school. Please order for your student’s grade level for next year. PTO Annual Meeting - The PTO Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 6:30 PM in the School Commons. We will elect officers, update our bylaws and most importantly - celebrate our volunteers! We hope you will make plans to join us. Child care is provided.
Report Your Volunteer Hours - Have you attended a PTO meeting (or two), helped plan or cook for a class-sponsored breakfast, assisted in planning a classroom holiday party or otherwise volunteered outside of school hours? If so, please be sure to report any time spent volunteering for Jefferson Academy Elementary during non-school hours using this simple Volunteer Hours Reporting Form. Time contributed during school hours is recorded in the RAPTOR system at school - this form is only for non-school time hours. Your volunteer time matters! Taking place on Monday, May 12 from 6:00–8:30 PM at JA Secondary (11251 Reed Way), this exciting evening will feature fun activities for the whole family; special guest Dave Johnson of the Katie Adamson Conservation Fund.
